People talk about opening their hearts, but it is dangerous to open ones heart. Upon opening, worlds flood in, drowning the self in a mercurial abyss of primordial oscillating energies, hardwiring the consciousness into a supraphysical nervous system: the central nervous system of Life itself. Opening ones heart is terrifying: it allows vulnerability, invites the potentiality of fresh pain, threatens to uproot the lethargy of familiar aches and regrets long-ago filed away as permanent fixtures of ones identity and life story, stirring mud and unsettling the pseudo safety of self-sorrow. Indeed, opening ones heart risks movement- oxygen and nitrogen rushing into the lungs of clovers covering the heartland, threatening to feed the fallow soil of the heart with the much-needed minerals of those rare-earth elements nowadays only found in new age books and crystal gatherings in upcountry Maui. Yes, opening the heart is not for the common person. But you are not common. No. YOU are Life personified as it begs itself to strip naked in the mirror before an audience of Eternity, quietly wishing for total surrender to a higher power, summoning waves upon waves to crash you upon the shore of NEW land, NEW love, NEW horizons. You stand at the gate ready to board a flight into your deepest Being wondering how you can bear the expense of further carrying this no-longer-needed luggage, stuffed with the ill-fitting wardrobe of past relationships that mirrored your then-self-doubt and absent confidence. The only sin, now, is to carry it further. Drop it all, Now. Open your heart. I open my heart to pleasure and pain Theres a risk inside every game The chasm we cross when learning to trust Is enough that no love is in vain So open your heart Makana
