Its 100% air/water tight, meaning the ecosystem inside the jar is /completely/ isolated from the outside world. It has its own water, oxygen and nutrient cycle. Over long periods of time even evolution will occur in this jar, totally unrelated to the outside world :) Anyway, getting to the point - now that its getting warmer, the humidity levels in the jar are increasing, and grass has started growing again!
