Performance of RMSA, SSA, MDMS reviewed DDC for strict action against delayed construction of Schools Taking a serious note of delay in construction of Schools under RMSA and SSA District Development Commissioner, Reasi, has issued directions for initiating action against all such Village Education Committees which failed to initiate constriction of schools in past three years. Meanwhile PWD has been directed to expedite the tender process within two weeks time and ensure that all 23 High Schools are completed in current financial year. Presiding a review meeting attended by ADDC Bikram Singh Jamwal, Superintending Engineer PWD and PHE, Assistant Commissioner Development Joginder Rain, ExEn PHE Nissar Khan, ExEn Mahore Jagdish Chib, ExEn PWD K H Shah, AD CAPD Keval Krishan, CEO Tarsem Lal, All ZEOs and Engineers, the DDC expressed serious concern over huge pendency of construction of girls toilets and Additional Class Rooms, directed the CEO to submit work wise details for withdrawing contracts from defaulting VECs and construction through rural development department. CEO informed that VECs are not willing to construct the units at allotted cost of Rs 43000. However Rural Development Department apprised that same unit is being constructed through panchayats at cost of Rs 38,000. Accordingly ZEOs were directed to submit detail of each work for taking up constructions departmentally. More than 500 ACRs under SSA have not been taken up due to high cost o carriage involved in remote areas. ZEOs have been directed to come up with list of such pending works where cost of ground levelling and minor works could be borne by rural development department under MG-NREGA so that schools could be completed in a time bound manner. DDC also stressed for providing drinking water facility in all remaining 428 schools. Superintending Engineer PHE assured 100% coverage of schools. Assistant Director CAPD informed that steps have been taken to streamline the ration supply under Mid Day Meal Scheme as per directions issued by the DDC. It was decided to conduct fortnightly reviews of the progress on various developmental works and flagship schemes of education sector.
