Performing Arts Assistant Application Details Reference Number: 2628 Middlesbrough Town Hall is developing a range of participatory workshops and activity for young people within the local area covering the summer period. The content of the classes will cover aspects of dance, singing and theatre and performance skills and music making. The appointed assistant would will have the support from a lead drama facilitator and they would like the assistant to work on the dance or music making aspect of the week. The summer school week will consist of 5 sessions running from Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 3:30pm. Assistants will be expected to arrive prior to the start time to set up the space ready for teaching at 9:30am. Artist brief: The assistant will be expected to have the flair, vision and experience to assist the performing arts facilitator in the delivery of a high standard of activities for young people within the performing arts remit. The assistant is required to have varied knowledge of drama, vocal and movement skills and/or music/script writing. Roles and responsibilities: Assist the delivery of a programme of work based around the chosen theme to young people aged 7-16 years. Assist in the creation of a small family sharing with the young people on the final day of the summer school lasting no longer than 30 minutes. Contribute to monitoring and evaluation and collate participation data. Adhere to health and safety requirements and procedures. Work to a child protection policy agreed by the council.
