Perks of Today: (Today was very productive and full of good things) 1. Went to the Saturday morning Farmers market with Chase, one of the ACUHO-I interns, and had a great time getting to know him, shopping for veggies, and eating tamales. 2. With Chase I finally got around to trying the new pie shop in town, which is decorated in a really fun and cool way. Plus, the pies and iced teas are delicious. 3. At the farmers market I found a tarragon starter plant, which will replace my tarragon plant that died while I was away. My garden is looking green again! 4. Went shopping with Karen, Sarah, and Shawn to find the right look with which to decorate Karens apartment. After four hours, many stores, and an early dinner at Tong Fong Lows we returned with a really good visual concept and some cool pieces to get the place started. 5. I spent the rest of the night tidying my apartment by finally going through some old boxes and crates of old paperwork. I found a treasure trove of memories. Planning sheets from Buff Fest, the blue tag ninja squad schedule from Kissmas, old certificates I won in elementary school, my letter (for my nonexistent lettermans jacket) for being in my high schools mock trial, old sketches that I drew, sketches that Kibs drew for me, the Johnston evaluation that Kris wrote for me, homework from my first year journey class with Kelly Hankin, and journals. I dont journal regularly, but every now and then I pick it up and stick with it for about a week or so. I found the journals from before I came out that chronicled what I was going through and the moments, good and bad, that I had forgotten about. I found my journals from college that reminded me of the adventures I had living with Liam my freshman year (ice cream, water guns, and apparently madly hunting for a Video for a class). How cool it was to have Michaela and Michelle living across the hall from us (I apologize for shooting you with said water guns. It was Liams idea.). My random times with Benjamin despite him not living in Holt and how we became friends. And hanging out with John Larsen, despite his stint in the hospital. Lots of random memories in a box.
