Petfinder Listing :) Like all highly trained U.S. Army Rangers, this canine Ranger knew what to do when he found himself chained outside, isolated and neglected. First and foremost was to escape enemy hands which he did by chewing through the cord that held him captive. Second was survival. Ranger survived on handouts and eating off the land for a month while dodging cars and other hazards. Finally, thin, footsore and weary he found friendly territory and aid. Ranger didn’t recognize the rescuers as friendlies at first and tried to get away but his Good Samaritan caught up the cord he was still dragging, talked softly to him, convincing him he was finally safe. Now Ranger is getting some well-deserved R&R, plenty of healthy chow and medical treatment. Ranger is paying for his “three hots and a cot” by giving kisses, tail wags and playing friendly games of tug-of-war with toys, sleeves, whatever he can gently tug. This soldier is reverting back to the puppyhood he had to abandon while on his mission toward freedom. We believe Ranger is a very young Anatolian/pyr mix of less than a year. He gets along with other dogs, large and small, but has not been tested with cats. Ranger completely accepts the confines of a fence, but we will not allow him to be chained again. We support this soldier’s bid for freedom and are aiding him in finding the family he so desperately wants meet.
