Petsmart in Manchester NH mistreated my cat today and bullied her with 3 employees and now her hair is falling out. All because I brought her in for a beauty day... The girl who I dealt with was rude and the manager I followed up with was arrogant and rude also. They held my cat down long after she displayed her distress over how things were going and they did not head her pleas to be left alone as she was scared to death, instead they had the male manager come out back and attempt to hold her down while they continued to bully her. I understand they have a job to do but when an animal is clearly in panic mode and lashing out, hissing, crying, clawing, biting and flailing, you back off and call the owner to let them know. You do not continue to poke at her and bring her to the point that she defecates on herself not once but twice at separate times. This is unconscionable and despicable to say the very least. Would you hold down an elderly woman in the hospital because she doesnt want you to bathe her and have 3 people on top of her??? This is utterly insane! My cat came home worse off then she went in. They claimed she started immediately upon them clipping her nails. She has never given a problem having her nails done, she is a very sweet baby girl and does not have a mean bone in her body, she was SCARED to death! She is favoring her rear left leg as if it were bruised or hurt somehow, she is completely matted now, she smells of feces, and on top of that they tried to charge me a fee for her being combative... This coupled with the fact that they still charged me for the service they did NOT complete. They told me they were not able to complete her clipping, her blow drying, brushing and her teeth. They clipped her nails and forced her into the bath and that was the extent of it. When I got the call from the girl at Petsmart she had opened the conversation with hi my name is ^%$^%$, can you come pick up your cat! she is very mean and unhappy and is attacking everyone. She was very short and snippy with me and did not tell me the whole story of what happened. Even when I got there and inquired about what happened a lot was left out and I was first given the impression it was toward the end of the spa that she acted out, only to learn as others spoke and I asked more questions that they whole story came out about how she was not happy from the start and was lashing out. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD THEY CONTINUE AND PUT THEM AND MY CAT IN HARMS WAY? There are limits and they clearly threw them out the window, apparently to justify charging for the service and inflating said service charge. When I approached the manager about what transpired at first I had asked for the manager (not knowing he was him) he just looked at me, I asked is the manager here? He said , YA.... (silence) staring at me and looking down at my cat in the carrier, then I asked would you happen to be him? He said.... YA.. can I help you... then I told him what was going on and then I learned he was the one who held her down and he was very arrogant about it laying it on my cat that she was unmanageable and that is why they are charging me the over fees.... He reluctantly removed the fee but still charged me for the grooming that was not completed at all...I called and spoke to corporate who told me that was unacceptable of them to have treated my pet and myself that way and that is not how they handle those situations and agreed that should have never gotten that far and said that violates policy. My cats hair is coming out in clumps and she has not stopped whimpering/crying for the last several hours. This is ABSURD and inhumane to say the very least. I am at the edge of insanity at this point....
