Phelans temp is down to normal. Whether this is in response to IV - TopicsExpress

Phelans temp is down to normal. Whether this is in response to IV fluids or because he is on an IV antibiotic, we do not know. His mood is much better and he personality is more like him. Our vets are sending the xrays over to a radiologist to get a determination on what they are seeing on the xray. There is an anomaly (thats their word for it) seen an the left lateral view. They are not sure if this is because he had a part of his lung not re-fill properly and leaving an empty space or if this anomaly is something outside of the lung and in between the lung and chest wall. Because of Phelans age (almost 6 years old which is old for an Irish Wolfhound) a tumor has to be considered and hopefully ruled out. Our biggest worry last night was torsion or bloat which is almost always fatal if not treated immediately and properly (including the supportive care that is needed after a surgical intervention). Our vets feel fairly confident, that the signs are not there for this diagnosis. Phelans white blood count was normal, and they are waiting for other tests to come back.
