Philip Kimaru Kabiru, a 12 year old resident of Gitunduti, Nyeri county, Kenya, is a budding standard 8 pupil awaiting to sit his KCPE this year. However, by a cruel twist of fate, all his left hand fingers were chopped off in an accident on April 26, 2014. He was thereafter rushed to the Aga Khan University hospital where he underwent a ten hour operation and the fingers were re-attached. However, he had to undergo another operation on May 1, 2014, and he is responding well. After his admission at the ICU, he is now recuperatin in the HDU.
