Photo Albums I’ve noticed one thing that this book shelf has that the old one on Alpha did not have was a collection of photo albums. After my mom retired, she took years and years of photographs and organized them by child. (Since I’m the oldest, I probably have the most!) I am enjoying the candids from our backyard right now. Some of the funniest ones are of my sister Marianne. She used to fall asleep anywhere as soon as she felt tired. She squished herself up into a fetal position and just went to sleep. There is even a picture of her sleeping by a rain spout. (Sorry, sis!) Photos reveal so much of a person’s life. You can tell who is important to a person from his or her photographs . You learn about family and friends, about hobbies and travels. Also notice what is not shown shouts volumes. Look at the gaps. Until a few years ago, I created beautiful albums for Will and Anna. There are albums from preschool through most of high school, from vacations and family events. I kept this up until a few years ago. I have the pictures, just not the albums. I was considering having two good friends do the work for me. I’d give them the chronology and let them create. But then I reconsidered. They’d ask extra questions.
