Photo: Boulder’s Palm Beach Hotel PolihronoYesterday I took photos at a pre-Matric dance function – that’s pressure because all those youngsters are going to review each photo with a fine-tooth comb. Shooting rocks at Boulder’s Beach was dead-easy; the rocks and crabs have no avenue for a comeback. This photo is made up of two RAW photos (exposures +1 & -1) that I manually blended in Photoshop (all that this means is that I used the darker sky from the one and the well-lit foreground from the other to get one evenly lighted photo). After that the flood gates opened and I used whatever software I could to pull and enhance the beautiful light we experienced that morning. Canon 6D, F16, ISO125, 24mm Cape Town Magazine wrote “Penguins live almost exclusively in the southern hemisphere, but yes, you will also find them in South Africa, in the seaside village Simon’s Town in False Bay between Fish Hoek and Cape Point - an easy hour‘s drive from Cape Town. Welcome to Boulders (also commonly known as Boulders Bay), it’s a popular tourist stop because of a colony of African Penguins which settled there in 1982 and the magnificent wind sheltered, safe beaches.
