Photojournalism is a critical part of the dissemination of information, and ultimately essential to democracy and good governance. Unfortunately, it can also be a dangerous profession. In light of World Press Freedom Day today, NOOR would like to celebrate photojournalists everywhere for their strength and perseverance in the face of great risk. We would also like to pay tribute to the photographers and journalists who were killed this year, paying the ultimate price in the name of their work.
