Physiotherapy is helping Elias with this move. He goes from his knees to a standing position. However he is still somewhat hypotone and his core is still weak so once he is up, boom he gets back down. Today he bumped his left eye, later gave himself a bloody mouth and then at night bumped his right eye. Its really hard for him to understand safety. Physio mentioned that hypotone kids have a harder time understanding their body. The concept of knowing where his hand is versus where it should be isnt easy. One part if his therapy is to receive strong massages, pressure in his legs, arms, hand and feet... for him to feel his body. I have also had to hide the Roomba... he tries to climb it and if I put it on the table he grunts at me until I put it back down. Bye bye for now (yet my floors have never been cleaner!). His feeding is improving thanks to additional therapies. He now can eat soft melts and thicker purée. There is some exercise involved but he isnt fighting and sometimes he even says ummm! But my favorite thing is that he discovered he can use his thumb to play harder games. He has this one toy with a little rolling ball in it. He sees me roll that thing and it makes a rattle noise and he would try too but his bug clubbed hand. The other day I found him sitting quietly passing this thumb gently over the ball and it worked. I was so proud... I am so proud of him!
