Plateau indigenes in Kaduna elect officers PLATEAU State indigenes resident in Kaduna have elected new officers to run the affairs of Plateau Community Development Association Kaduna (PCDAK). The Plateau indigenes turned out in their numbers including traditional leaders, advisers and patrons to participate in the election and handover ceremony described the election as peaceful and orderly. The results which showed that Mr. Bulus Gofub was elected President, while Comrade Joshua Dapam became Vice President. The post of Secretary General went to Mr. Stephen Aduli and Mr. Pam Gyang was elected Assistant Secretary General while the post of financial secretary went to Mr. Peter Ibrahim. Others were Mr. Sunday Achulba was elected Treasurer, while Mr. Luka K. Bomboy became the Director of Socials went Mr. Pam Badung, Assistant Director of Social, Mr. Musa Dawap elected as the Chief Whip (discipline) and Mr. Ayuba Masha as Assistant Chief Whip (discipline.) In his handing over address to the new executive, the immediate former president, Da John Nyam Tok (KSJ), who held the office for two terms, remarked that the second term was not smooth at all as it was characterized by insecurity and other crises which affected the implementation of its programmes thereby unable to conduct election at the appropriate time. He itemized various activities which include revenue generation, Kaduna millennium city, review of Constitution, Plateau transport authority, Plateau State Government landed properties in Kaduna, audience with governors of Plateau and Kaduna which suffered set back, pilgrimages to Jerusalem, and advised the newly elected Exco led by Gofub to endeavor to approach with tact, especially, with palpable normalcy returning to the state. In his acceptance speech, the new President, Mr. Bulus Gofub who thanked the Plateau community in Kaduna for electing him, promised to put in his service to the benefit of the community and commended the former executive for its achievements while in office, adding, “we will still call on you to tap from your past experiences to enable us forge ahead for the progress of the whole community.” Speaker after speaker at the gathering, including former president, Chief Titus Zakka called on their members to pray for peace and progress of the community who they advised to live in harmony with their host, Kaduna State, while the nonchalant attitude of some members of the community towards the association was disheartening.
