Played Deponia a week ago, currently playing The Book of Unwritten Tales. Deponia honestly felt like a spiritual successor to the original two Discworld games - humour was near identical and some of the object combinations just as absurd (although perfectly logical). Its also one of the most perfect adventure games Ive played in a while, superb mechanics, great visuals and perfect voice-work, and a wicked sense of humour. The Book of Unwritten Tales took some breaking in. The first few scenes in the prologue resulted in pixel hunting, which almost led to a complete rage quit of the game, and the humour was running flat. Once Chapter 1 got properly underway though the game took on a certain charm. Artwork has been a good motivator on this one. Voice work is good, but the scripting has been off-key on occasions. The humour is mostly geek references to WoW, Magic The Gathering, Discworld (I thought you spoke in CAPITALS?), Monkey Island, Star Wars and Tolkein. And the twist on the purpose of the ONE ring was superb. Plot is ... possibly a little thin, but just about enough to carry it. This one is growing on me.
