The report suggests that Suarez’s representatives have been talking to Madrid over personal terms on a potential move for the past few weeks. The Merseyside club say they have received no formal transfer request from their striker and insist they have not had any official offers from Madrid or any other club. If, as is widely expected, Liverpool do reluctantly decide to let Suarez go the club are determined to do so under their own terms and will certainly not be bullied by the demands of the player. Suarez remains on national duty until next week, with Uruguay set for the third/fourth play-off on Sunday having been beaten by hosts Brazil in the semi-finals on Wednesday night.
