Playing around with the phone today, found something interesting in a system-info page in the CPU-Z app. The phone has a multi-axis magnetic field sensor! Sweet! So, I grabbed an app for it and poked around a bit... confused that it hangs the sensor while its near a 60Hz oscillating field near a motor or transformer. Weird... Id kinda think that would be a useful utility for a magnetic sensor - using the quick-updating trait of the sensor to measure a transformers exact frequency. Could be handy... Then I realized: a super-sensitive, rapidly-updating, multi-axis magnetic field sensor is KNOWN AS A FREAKING COMPASS. So Im dicking around with strong magnetic fields against a compass. Im going to go in the corner and don my dunce cap now. :3
