Pleasantly festive atmosphere in downtown Stornoway this afternoon - Yes Scotland gave me an ice-lolly, a wee folk-band entertained passers-by and Better Together were forced to move on by the manager of the local Argos. A friendly fellow-Yesser showed me this crazed leaflet which is doing the rounds locally - incoherent, self-contradictory, very badly written and full of elementary English errors. (Even a text of Scripture is botched.) The flier is besides illegal - campaigning literature in any election or poll must bear an address, and in this referendum it must be a registered campaigning organisation. We have no idea who produced it, though.
