Please Be Seated - Trailer NMC are known for their site-responsive multi disciplinary collaborations and have previously made work, which imaginatively engages with the function of diverse spaces - a chapel, a nightclub, a brewery, a dairy. Now they turn to the more orthodox space of the theatre and invite us to reimagine its particular conventions and our collusion in them. Please Be Seated follows a young man whos flippancy gets him expelled from the system and marginalized within the state. The work presents us with a communal/totalitarian society, which can only operate through group consensus but in which the needs of the individual also clamour for acknowledgement.
