Please be careful of the Scam going around in Midrand, there are guys that pretend to be owners of apartments and tell you to view the place knowing ver well that its available, they obviously use FAKE names, the ones that tricked me claimed to be RICHARD and Oscar, they are cell numbers are as Follows : VINCENT = 0796017979 RAYMOND = 0722205432 and i see another listed that also looks like a scam....pictures stolen from the Propert24 website MAPHOKA = 0762037087 two beedroom town house available for rental in centurion So good people dont fall in the same trap only because you see the apartment is cheap and you are renting fro the owners these people they are not owners they will ask you to deposit the money and tell you that you must pay ASAP cause there are other people that wants to take the place since they have the deposit money and Rent money meanwhile you are not the only person for that place, theres like 2 or more people for the same place that they have advertised illegally. On the day they have to give you the key, and you have to move in all of a sudden their phones are switched off. And when you go to the apartment you find out that the place belongs to an Agency . So be very very careful and do not deposit the money into these guys accounts. Contact the publisher behind the advert. Let the publisher know about what happened. No matter how it happened you are not to blame for becoming the victim of a rental scam. Review the red flags. Although rental scams always seem to strike when we least expect, there are some common warning signs: Get familiar with red flags to help identify and avoid rental scams. Do not get discouraged. After falling victim to a rental scam, it is easy to lose hope of finding the perfect apartment or to get angry at the whole process and begin to suspect everyone.
