Please be in prayer for Kevin and our family as we found out todaythat his cancer has returned (one place in the colin and now there are spots on his liver). Everything had been fine based on blood work we get every 3 months until 3 weeks ago when he went in for his normal bloodwork and his markers were up. Retested those last week and they had doubled. PET scan on Friday and we got the resultstoday. Needless to say I am at a total loss to put into words what I am feelingtonight. All the emotions of fear, anger, grief and anxiety have been experienced today. We told our kids and are so proud of how they took the news and encouraged us to not worry and that God is the ultimate healer so dont lose faith. What betterencouragement than from your kids!!!! Here are some things to pray with us about: 1. We will be getting a 2nd opinion so pray that we know where and who that will be with. We have some amazing friends who have contacts at UT Southwestern and MD Anderson. 2. He will start chemo again on Monday at Texas Oncology. Its the same regimen that he did before with every other week for 6 months. We scan again in 3 months and see if its working. 3. Pray he is able to continue to work his normal days. He thrives on routine and providing for us. He was able to go in everyday (except for chemo days) last time. 4. Little to NO side effects!! I love that our prayers can be specific to God. If I dont ask and be specific in my asking where is my faith that God can do this?? 5. Pray for us as a family. My brother - in law said it best todaythat we tend to process separately. As that can be good on occasion we need to process and talk as a family. Our kids are old enough now to have their own experience with this journey. Although we hate this for them we are praying for God to tell HIS story through our lives as a family. 6. Last but not least pray for COMPLETE HEALING!!!!!! We are praying knowing that God already knows whats going to happen. He knew Kevins DNA before he was even born and k we we would start this cancer journey December 19, 2013. None of this has surprised HIM!! Thats amazing to me. We are so blessed by our families, our friends who have become family and our SWBTS family. Cant imagine walking down this dark road all alone with no family or friends but most importantly walking with NO HOPE!!! Love you all and thankful for your prayers!!
