Everything she said I totally agree with and have expereienced it as well. When I first moved to NYC 5 1/2 yrs ago as a cosmteology student I went to school for 7 Months 9-5pm. By the time I got home it was about 7pm and I had to be up by 6am... With my schedule it was hard for me to find a job. I even considered working at McDonalds 0___0 but my pride wouldnt allow me to. A year before at 17 yrs old I was a medical receptionist making $9.00 per hour. I said to myself I cant work a job making minimum wage. Once I finished cosmetology school I sacrificed by giving away my services for events, photoshoots and many other occasions just to get my work out there. I probably worked for free for over year. There were times where it was frustrating but it was definitely worth it. Just as Marisa stated you have to show people how you can add value. By doing this I was able to not only promote my brand but build some amazing relationships. I did my first wedding shoot with Flor Branham and Johnathan Branham and now I am the godmother of their first daughter. Sacrifices often lead to many rewards. This is a constant reminder even presently.
