Please congratulate members of the BHS forensics team on their 3rd place finish at Academic Magnets Raptor Invitational on Saturday, February 1, 2014. In addition to the team award, several students brought home individual awards. Denee Harvey: 6th place in childrens literature Matthew Mood: 5th place in childrens literature and 6th place in impromptu speaking Yaicha Ocampo: 4th place in dramatic interpretation and 3rd place in oral interpretation Kayla Grainger: 5th place in oral interpretation and 4th place in childrent literature Andrew Butler: 2nd place in oral interpretation Harrison McGlothlin: 4th place in extemporaneous speaking and 7th place in impromptu speaking This competition wraps up the regular season for the team; however, 14 team members have qualified for the state tournament which will be held at Mauldin High School on February 28 and March 1, 2014. In addition, four team members (Kayla Grainger, Lauren Jackson, Harrison McGlothlin and Matthew Mood) have been named to the All SC team and have been invited to compete at the national qualifying tournament in Asheville, NC at the end of March. The rest of the team has the opportunity to earn an invitation based on their performance at the state tournament. The team and I would like to thank everyone who has volunteered time and resources this year to help make them so successful. A special thanks to Coach Chassereau and Ms. Gaffney who served as chaperones at last Saturdays tournament.
