Please do not translate to mind your own affairs ... as dont intervene or help thy neighbor. It means focus on our goals to set an example to others. To just quote scripture in attempt to lead someone to God does not work for a number of reasons; (1) even Satan knows the Bible; (2) actions speak louder than words; (3) just knowing scripture without living according to the Will of God just shows you can memorize. A leader ... leads and has a great responsibility attached to it. Be a Good Witness: 11 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, 12 so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one. (1 Thessalonians 4 : 11 - 12 - ESV)
