Please dont tune out because this is about a petition! I saw the giant otters, tapirs, jaguars (well, the footprints of! They are definitely there!) caimans, kingfishers, macaws, pink river dolphins, fish, frogs, butterflies, monkeys and capivara that will be destroyed - flooded and drowned - by these hydro-electric dams. Take a second to consider and sign this petition - two dams are proposed to be constructed on the river I paddled in amazon. Thousands of square hectares of jungle will be flooded, affecting hundreds of species of animals and fish as well as destroying the river which many unique species of fish migrate in. Not to mention, the green Jungle itself. Please - your signature will help send a message to the Brazilian Government; one which says that this earths forests, jungles, rivers, wildlife and their fragile, perfectly balanced ecosystems NEED to be protected and conserved. This also includes the lands and homes of many indigenous tribes, and other protests and petitions are underway concerning this abuse of human rights.
