Please help Save 6 year old Church. He is on tomorrows euth list and only has till noon before he is gone forever. Share and advocate for Church before it is to late... A volunteer writes: Named for his unique cross-shaped white chest blaze, stunning Church is the kind of dog who literally stops people in their tracks and during our photo shoot he glows under the compliments of everyone who passes by...Wow! What a gorgeous boy! Look at those eyes!..Indeed, theyre like luminous golden gems set in a fine mahogany sculpture and Churchs direct gaze is quite something to behold. But dont worry, this happy chappie is far from aloof and right from the start hes eager to go out, pulling slightly on the leash and clearly thrilled at the chance to sniff and explore. Church seems quite house trained and greets other dogs with friendly curiosity but what really floats his boat is toys, the chewier the better. He waits patiently for my throw then dashes off to retrieve the coveted item, keeping it for himself but still allowing me to pet him as he gets down to business. If its a tennis ball he lies on the ground to mouth it but if its a plush toy, well, lets just say its going to have a very limited lifespan...let the reverse engineering begin! If a toy somehow escapes his mouth and I can reach down to pick it up, Church doesnt seem to mind and will sit once more to wait before dashing after it or engaging in an enthusiastic game of tug-o-war. Once all the toys are done he runs over and leaps up beside me on the bench and his compact, perfectly proportioned body is just the right size for some lap snuggles and a full-body massage. Church enjoys this so much that it quickly turns into a one-sided makeout session as Im given a thankful flurry of ticklish chin kisses in return! Church was very sociable and performed well on his behavior assessment but his high energy levels and eagerness to make a game out of anything and everything mean hed do best with experienced pet parents who dont have any human children - though doggie siblings would certainly be welcome.
