Please help the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library remind everyone of the perils of censorship and celebrate the free exchange of ideas by supporting Banned Books Week 2014! Los Angeles-based artist Tim Youd will be “Locked Up With Vonnegut,” living in a prison of banned books for the week. He’ll also create new works of art by typing entire banned books such as Fahrenheit 451 on a single sheet of paper and reading text aloud. The second annual art exhibit “Banned Books Recovered,” will be on display. This exhibition will feature local artists reimagining the covers of literature that made its way onto the list of most commonly banned books.
