Please.. if you cant swim, stay away from the beach. Waves or no waves (or at least go to a patrolled beach) dont pack the whole family in the car and drive them down to their potential graves.. and definitely DONT take your kids that you wont be able to protect. Children watching other children.. is not safe! You dont understand that a struggling child weighs a significant amount in water. Your child will most likely drown, if not drown the child trying to save them too. Go to the pools where they have lifeguards and the water currents wont change. Where you can sit in the shade and have your bbQ or lunch, knowing everyone is safe. Australia is a dangerous place. Our beaches are beautiful but also extremely dangerous, even for the most confident swimmers. You wont always see a rip (undertow, under currant) when tides change. How can people not understand this?
