Please meet the Tuttle Animal Shelter, our first “Wag it Forward” shelter. The city of Tuttle, OK is located 28 miles south and west of down town Oklahoma City and has a population of roughly 6,200. This hard working little shelter has ONE animal control officer who is responsible for nearly 30 square miles of area. Their ACO is not only charged with keeping the animals and citizens of her city safe but also acts as their shelter manager, adoption ambassador, and care giver to the animals. The Tuttle Animal Shelter has a capacity to care for and house 10 dogs and 15 cats at any given time and has an annual intake of over 125 animals. The Bella Foundation SPCA salutes Kristi Martindale, Tuttle ACO, and applauds her long term goals of creating an in house spay/neuter program for the animals she helps adopt and also in becoming a NO-KILL facility.
