Please note change of date and phone numbers at the end. Anderson Reunion Easter, 2015 Easter Sunday, April 5th, will once again see a gathering of the Anderson family, thirty three years after the last one in 1982. Significant interest has already been shown and descendants of Henry and Mary Anderson of Mt Pleasant, Wheeo are welcome to the Crookwell Showground on Easter Sunday (9.30am-5pm) to renew friendships and meet new members of this expansive family. Henry and Mary were married in Goulburn in 1864 and their family of eight sons and four daughters are now all deceased. Eldest daughter, Sarah married Patrick Grant of Gunning and they settled on a small property at Wheeo. Honorah became the wife of Thomas McAlister and lived at Yalbraith near Golspie. Maria wed James Croke of Curaweela near Taralga. They made their home at Laggan where James worked on several properties. Alice married Thomas Kennedy and they farmed the land at Glen Erin near Crookwell. Three of the sons Henry, William and George remained single while the other five sons married local women. John and Martin married sisters Annie and Mary Pollock; Edward and Michael also chose sisters-Bridget and Rose McCormack, while James’ wife was Anne Keough. They all settled on land in the Crookwell area. On Easter Sunday stories of their lives and their descendants will be told as well as the viewing of memborillia on display. Participants are encouraged to bring anything for display on the previous afternoon between 1pm and 5pm to the main showground pavilion. Please label all objects, books etc clearly. Children will be able to draw their families on paper and display. There will be an opportunity to update the current family records with a view to a future publication of the family tree. There will be campsites available at the showground as well as accommodation in Crookwell and Goulburn. Bring a picnic lunch or take advantage of a sausage sizzle provided by the local Lions Club. Hot water and some drinks will be available for sale.
