Please pass this on to any Lord Baltimore High School attendees....upcoming reunion info: In 1998, Vernon McCabe (LB Class of 1953) began a tradition of organizing a gathering for everyone who graduated from Lord Baltimore High School, along with former teachers and employees. Vernon has “retired” from this effort and asked us [Glenn Timmons (1968) & Richard Timmons, Jr. (1965)] to take over the duties of organizing future gatherings. Those of us who attended Vernon’s previous gatherings in 1998, 2000, 2003 and 2009 have enjoyed the fellowship of meeting schoolmates whom we haven’t seen for many years. It has been 45 years since the last class (1968) graduated from LB, and we believe this is a fitting anniversary to get together again. Other folks who attended LB High School or LB Junior High School, but did not graduate from LB, have also expressed an interest in attending our gatherings. Therefore, we will extend the invitation to all schoolmates who attended LB High and Junior High School through 1968. This will be done with help from class leaders and a notice in a local paper. As with the previous gatherings, this event will be informal with casual dress, round tables arranged by class, nametags, and a buffet-style meal including Salad, Prime Rib, Grilled Chicken, Seafood Imperial Casserole, vegetables, sweet tea, coffee, dessert etc. No entertainment – just mingle and reminisce, although we plan to have some old photos & videos to show during the evening. When: Saturday, September 21, 2013 Where: Cheer Community Center in Georgetown Time: Come at 5:00 p.m. (cash bar); Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. Cost: $29 per person The Cheer Center is located about 1 mile east of the circle in Georgetown. From downtown Georgetown, take Market Street (Route 9) toward Lewes, go about 1 mile, and turn left on Sandhill Road. The Cheer Center is just on the left, #20520. Make checks payable to “Glenn Timmons” and write “LB Gathering” on the check’s lower “memo” or “for” line and send to me at the address below. Please include a note with your check with name(s) in your party, your LB class year, and your e-mail address (if you have one). Cashed checks will be your confirmation, but if you include your e-mail, I will confirm on that. Please reply as soon as possible (before July 31, 2013) so I can complete the arrangements. These gatherings have always been special occasions, and Vernon McCabe deserves our thanks for starting the tradition 15 years ago.
