Please post. This morning I found a plait in my horses mane. It looks like a tangle but clearly twisted together and plaited towards the bottom. This is the second time it has happened only I was naive not to know anything about it the first time. Some say it is a way of marking a horse to be stolen but I have contacted the police and they have tried to reassure me that it is a paegan ritual and horses are usually unharmed and not stolen. It is not overly reassuring and I want people to be aware when tending to their horses. The other horse in the field was not plaited on either occasion. Brixham area.
