Please read. My sister is a missionary. Today, she embarked on her journey to Cusco, Peru for what will be 5 long years--5 long years of . . . whatever God wants. 5 long years of service to God. She will finally be living the moment she said to herself, “I want to do that. I want to travel to a foreign country and share what I know about God. I want to do that!!! I need to do this.” She’s expressed to me that she feels compelled, and I believe her. It is so evident through her heart, actions, and everything I’ve grown up seeing my big sister do that she is fulfilling her path’s destination at this very time. Now, how do I feel about her leaving? Sure, she’s my lovely other half and I’m sad and unsure of what will happen without her. I’ll see her once a year, but still, its different. I am truly happy for her! We are just extremely close. She is my steady source of advice and clarity in this confusing and hurtful world. We make each other laugh till we spew our drinks out. We make stupid videos together and dance just to be silly. We appreciate each other’s talents and goals. She knows what I need, and she will tell me right away even if it is not what I want to hear. She believes in me like no one else I know in her own special way. And now, I must share her with a whole new culture. Well, all I can say is I hope they’re ready for such a blazing gem being carried their way! I hope they cherish her, refine her, and listen to what she has to say because I promise you--- she has SO much to say. If you’ve never prayed for a missionary, now would be a great time! :) Even if you don’t know who these people are, haha, just do it! Just pray that God lives through my sister and brother-in-law and that his work be done. Thank you! We all really very much appreciate it so so much. Vaya con Dios!
