Please read, So I went to Huddersfield town centre today and as usual I park at tescos. For anyone of you that do the same, youll know there are always homeless people sat outside. Now I get very angry with people stood in my way in the supermarket or In a shopping centre, trying their best salesman tactics for me to donate or to sign up to their charity, dont get me wrong I have always done my bit for charitys mainly prostate and testicular cancer, but when I do, I donate money in the hundreds. Its the chuggers I dont like. Now my £1 maybe £2 or whatever change Ive got that goes in their jar makes no difference, lets be truthful but Id much rather use that money to buy flowers for a sick person to make their day, to buy a drink for a person thats not had one or a meal in days. That money to make a real difference to that person. So today I did just that. I saw a man sat on the floor, looking on his last legs with people insulting him, swearing at him, turning their nose up at him and ignoring him. I had around £3 in my pocket for something to eat as id had nothing to eat all day and I was starving, instead I went to the shop, bought a cup of tea, with 1 sugar and a bacon sandwich. I went round the corner and as he was about to ask for change i handed him a brew, I said iv got you a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich, take care buddy. His face lit up and he couldnt thank me enough, that poor blokes probablly not eaten in days and the money for a pint? An app? May have just saved his life. So why have I gone on about this? Well Im not discouraging charitys at all, and Im not interested in getting praise for it but if you see someone less fortunate, just think, theyve got nothing. Dont insult them, dont walk around them and think youre above them, because youre not, were all equal.
