Please read this and comment ..... Originating form the mecca of grunge, Seattle’s new dirty rock band, Gliceryn, fits in the lineage of popular music. They are raising brows across the nation. Inspired by heavy metal, indie rock, and a vast array of musical influences, the band’s distorted electric guitars and punk/metal hybrid sound is giving the genre a new definition. The four-member Seattle chic band consists of members Andrew, Devon, Christian, and George, who united in the summer of 2013. “When Christian showed me his music, I thought it was really cool. At first, it was just Christian and me. Then, he met Devin, and through Devin, we met George. It all came together. We all came together from a different perspective,” says Andrew. Their music can be described as durable and timeless, as they recreate a modern-day grunge they describe as “dirty rock.” Their lyrics are fiery and full of wit, defiance, and intimacy. “Every member of the band has an extensive musical background. The band has such a unique sound, rising from the fact that the members have a diverse set of music influences. Right now, Gliceryn is grinding and playing shows, doing as much as they can, because they are so new to the scene. As Christian describes it, ʻThe ball just started rolling really fast, and we just want to keep it rolling,ʼ” states Cynthia Khan of Amused Now. Their song “Borderline” opens up with an intense guitar riff that screams “rock.” The lyrics are relatable and insatiable. “Colour” is a slower, more dramatic song with an upright cello and a melodic tone. “These guys get it. Theyve got something thats unique; theyve got a lot of energy, and they could be a big deal. Their song ʻPureʼ is my favorite,” states Cristino Melendez from TRS 24/7. Networking and supporting others are big things for Gliceryn. Christian, who has a lot of charisma and an ability to write a good hook, says, “Network with other bands, and make friends with them. They’re going to get you shows; you get them shows. It’s not really a huge competition; it’s more of a family.” If you haven’t heard them yet, take a listen. If dirty rock or the word grunge turns you off, just think...at one point in time, Marc Jacobs, the creative designer of Louis Vuitton, was hailed as the guru of grunge.” The unique talent displayed by these guys is not something anyone should miss.
