Please remember the Philippines in your prayers and LCMS partner church, the Lutheran Church in the Philippines (LCP), as the country braces for Typhoon Hagupit, which is gathering strength in the Western Pacific. Here is a note from the Rev. Antonio Reyes of the LCP to Lutheran churches around the world: Another super typhoon is coming with the intensity like that of Yolanda (Haiyan). We are fully aware of the great devastation it has caused our people that even today they are still recovering. This coming typhoon is said to hit almost the same path as last years. It is highly possible then that the same places and same people will once again experience its fury. Therefore, I urge you my brothers and sisters in the faith that we unite in prayer that our Lord Jesus will do wonders, like what He did in the Sea of Galilee wherein He calmed the storm. Always remember that the Lord Jesus Christ is Lord over nature and with Him nothing is impossible! Our God is greater and more powerful than all typhoons combined. Let us then pray with confidence because He is able.
