Please remember this We’re older, not much older, but older never the less. I can remember when I first met you. You were wearing a white t-shirt and kaki pants. Remember standing under the peer, buzzed from wine coolers, while the waves crashed against us? Remember asking me if it was okay to kiss me? Remember introducing me to your family for the first time? Remember promising each other that we would wait as long as it took? Remember me coming back for the second time? Third? Even fourth, time? Remember the pity fights we got into? Remember how passionate we were? I’m a ghost in your garden now. You told me to wait for what the future has for us, but the future is too busy doing other things. I don’t want just words, and if that’s all you have for me, you’d better go. And darling, I’ve decided that I’ll be my own super hero. Because to be quite honest with you, everyone else is too busy trying to save themselves.
