The total expense of BJD reported varies from about 4.21 lakk in 2002-03 to 26.78 lakh in 2010-11. You can interpret this information the way you want, but for me it means BJD like every other political party in the country other than AAP and Loksatta is functioning on a foundation of lack of financial transparency and integrity. Besides the legal aspects, I feel that the immorality of this makes all other actions of a political party even if they are meant for public welfare etc. is meaningless altogether. Its time India cleaned up its politics. #AAP has made a start, now its up to the senior parties to take up the challenge of financial transparency.
