Please share my foster Shep. He really needs to find a forever foster home. I agreed to hold him for a weekend to keep him out of boarding after surgery and Ive had him for over 1.5 years. Hes available for foster through Derby City Dog Rescue. Hes estimated 8-11 yrs old. Is great with people and kids. Hes a big boy (100 lbs) and when he gets excited, he jumps and bumps into things, so younger children may not be ideal. Hes great with most dogs - tends to be very passive. Shep does need proper introductions. He even lets our min pin take his antlers. Hes not destructive. Hes house trained, crate trained, knows basic commands, and doesnt really bark. Hed love to be able to roll around in a yard and be full time with a family. Unfortunately, due to one of my dogs aggression towards him, Shep has been kept in our downstairs. Hes now trying to take down the baby gate because he really wants to be with us if were upstairs. This recently resulted in him coming up during the night and my dog going after him. For the safety of both, as well as happiness (neither needing to be crated), Shep really needs to find a forever home. He hasnt really been around cats. He did pick up the cat at the vets office, so I would recommend no cats. He is very food motivated though, and could possibly learn to just leave them alone. Shep does have a lot of fatty tumors, a mass in his abdomen and a slow-growing, localized cancer. Its unknown how long he might have. Right now hes a very sweet and loving boy. He really is very low maintenance and would be a great dog for a first time foster. Id be more than happy to do a meet and answer any questions you might have.
