Please take the time to read this post. While it may not affect you directly, Im sure many of you know someone (a close friend, family member, colleague) who has suffered similar circumstances at the hands of a petty injustice. Its the conscious ignorance of treatment like this that breeds the same tragic atrocities inflicted upon our people daily . Lets not forget Michael Brown, Trevon Martin and the many other victims who werent fortunate enough to walk away from the blatant disregard of their human rights. Please stop, and take the time to not only acknowledge, but understand the dire need for change. We HAVE got to continue our fight in holding those abusing their authority and influence accountable. We need to reset the standards of what is right and justifiable as well as what we are willing to accept, and continue to strive to ensure those standards remain upheld. We are worthy of and deserve better. If we dont continue to push progressive and corrective action then we are essentially sending a message of collective acceptance. This isnt just about the afflicted, its about those of us who are still at risk. This can happen to anyone. LeShea Agnew s personal testimonial is proof of that.
