Pledge to the Middle……….on Common Ground. There comes a time in each person’s life where hard questions must be asked, and hard decisions made. For centuries our great country has been slowly dividing. It is not a financial divide, nor is it even a racial one. Religion is not the blade that cuts deep. The division is one even more insidious. For far too long our great country has become a playground of political juggernauts that have become a cancer to our nation. And we, as the proud people we are, have willingly chosen sides on a battle that has less to do with us – and more to do with corporate greed and political alliances. It has become blatantly clear the two party system of government is nothing more than a two headed serpent. When we align ourselves with this creature, by calling ourselves Democrat, Republican, Liberal, Libertarian, Conservative…..we are in essence feeding The Beast. The Beast has no care for the country any longer. It has no true representation of the people. The Beast only cares to line its pockets for yet another semester. We the People have allowed this behavior and have even openly embraced it under the faulty logic that if we try to control The Beast it will eventually tame. We have been lied to. Yet, there is a simpler, more elegant way we can starve The Beast. No matter what your political affiliation is, we all can agree on single issues. Is there not then the ability for us all to agree on other issues as well, and compromise together and come to agreement?? The funny thing is, that we can…..but for some reason, our political representatives are not……why do they not listen to “WE THE PEOPLE”, when it is we that elected them. Is it power, ego, prestige…..political payoffs….or something altogether different? What if I were to tell you that YOU, on a personal level, can in fact make that change? That difference which can in fact take back our great nation and return it to the people? Without changing what you do on a regular basis? It is time for the revolution. It is time to drop the titles of political affiliation we have embraced to identify ourselves – as they are segregating. No more Liberal. No more Libertarian. No more Democrat or Republican. Not even the title Independent. It is time we return to the days where we have representation in the government, where constituents who are sitting in office vote with a fear in the gut of swift termination from office if they go against the will of the people. Where Lobbyists no longer feel comfortable wandering the halls of the arena smug in the knowledge they control the vote. Why can’t we relearn how to talk to one another without shutting each other down based on political party? And spread the word to three people daily. Even now lists of political representatives down to the county level are being gathered to see who is truly for the people. We need help in the gathering of the names of those who voted for the people and not the corporate. We need people to simply spread the message. Stop voting the party.
