Plot Against Twum Boafo Fails The Airport Police in Accra - TopicsExpress

Plot Against Twum Boafo Fails The Airport Police in Accra yesterday had no choice than to throw out a case of assault brought before them against the CEO of the Free Zone Board, Kwadwo Twum Boafo by his driver after their investigations established that the allegation was false. First of all, Seth Obeng’s witnesses failed to corroborate his story as he had told the Police they would. Secondly, the Police discovered that after he reported the alleged assault to them and was issued a hospital form to go for treatment, he rather went to a media house to lodge his complaint. Thirdly, when the Police asked why he did not go to the hospital as advised and instead went to the media house, he claimed he never went to the media and that it was the media who came to him. Police however discovered that it was to Peace FM that he went instead of the hospital after he was given hospital form. As at 1:00 am Friday, Seth Obeng was at the studios of peace FM. He has since granted interviews on his allegations to several media houses. A source close to the CEO of the Free Zones Board said he is unperturbed at what had gone on and was aware of the faces behind what he sees as a clandestine plot to bring his good name into disrepute. Meanwhile, the source told this paper that Mr. Twum Boafo snubbed the Daily Guide yesterday after its editor, Fortune Alimi, contacted him to try to get his version of the story. “You know, the Daily Guide has gleefully run the banner headline “Twum Boafo Slaps Driver”. They did not contact him before making that categorical statement. They did not even contact the police to find out if the allegation was true. Like other media houses especially online portals like peacefmonline and myjoyonline, they run the story without observing the most basic rule in journalism, that is cross-checking the story, before publishing it because it suits their political agenda”, the source fumed.“So why is the Daily Guide now contacting him?” Meanwhile, the CEO of the FZB is said to be meeting his lawyers this morning to file a law suit against some media houses who he believed have defamed him in this matter. .
