TEXT: 1 Chronicles 21:1-8 David was very close to the end of his lyf nd ministry. He had seen many battles nd emerged victorious over dem all. But the devil neva gave up on him. He cornered him in a very subtle nd unsuspecting way. He came up with d idea dat david should take d census of d nation, he do dis, such dat david turned down d opposition of joab nd his counsellors. Satans target was not only david but d whole nation of israel. David fell for this carrot and israel suffered for it. Now notin on dis surface is wrong with taking a census. And, indeed, this was not d first tym dis would be done. But then, every tin is wrong with whatever idea satan is suggesting to u. You need to check ur heart sincerely when an idea comes to u. Wat is d real motive behind it? It may appear nice, harmless and laudable on d surface but hidden motive is to advance pride and selfish interest, den it must be noted dat everything is wrong with d idea. Safeguard urself from satans cunnig onslaught. Close-up the door of ur heart to any of his suggestions. Be open to God and the wise counsels of His children so as to overcome all wicked darts of the devil. THOUGHT FOR D DAY: He who is wise counsels will be saved from bitter regrets.
