Pls educate yourselves. So I was in line at Walmart and this woman that Ive never met, also in line, starts talking to me. Btw, I hate when strangers feel the need to strike up a convo with me. Anyways heres my conversation with a stranger at Walmart: Her: wow your hair looks nice. Me: thanks Her: is that your real hair? Me: yes Her: how do you get it to do that? Me: my wife helps me twist it once in a while, but other than that, it just kinda does it on its own Her: where are you from? Me: Nigeria Her: really? Wheres that? Me: west Africa Her: well your English is amazing. How long have you been in the US? How long did it take you to learn English Me: I learned English in Nigeria. Its our official language. Her: oh wow. Do you speak African? Me: no, African is not a language Her: oh I didnt know. Do you speak Nigerian? Me: no, Nigerian is not a language. Nigeria has over 200 languages. I speak one dialect of one of those languages which is called Yoruba Her: oh thats so interesting Me: thanks Her: I went to Africa before with my husband. We went to (insert some country she said, but I wasnt paying attention to) Me: thats nice Her: have you ever been there? Me: no, Africas a big continent Thank God the cashier called her up for her turn. I couldnt continue to take the ignorance. WHY do ppl feel its OK to just start convos with strangers in Walmart lines?
