Pocharam Srinivas blames opposition for police lathicharge on farmers at Narsingi of Medak district Hyderabad, Aug 4, 2014: Telangana Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas blamed the opposition parties for the lathicharge on protesting farmers at Narsingi of Medak district on Monday. Speaking to media persons at the Secretariat, Pocharam accused the police of over-action and alleged that some police personnel resorted to lathi-charge at the behest of some leaders of opposition parties. He further alleged that innocent farmers were falling to the politics being played by opposition parties. Strongly condemning the lathi-charge, he asked the police to observe restrain as everyone has a right to hold protest. Pocharam said that the TRS Government was serious about the welfare of farmers all steps were being taken to resolve the problems being faced by the farming community. The minister also informed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will visit Nizamabad on August 6 to launch Rs 114 crore drinking water project and other developmental programmes.
