***Police Activity*** 8/10/14 – 8/16/14 8/10 – Walmart – An Officer responded to the report of a fight in the Walmart parking lot. Upon arrival, the Officer learned that a 17 year old son had punched his father. The father stated he told his son not to lose a receipt a day earlier so the son could return an item and the son lost it today. The son became enraged when the father said “I told you so”. The father declined prosecution. 8/10 – 400 block of N Washington St – An Officer responded to the report of an ankle injury on a trampoline. 8/11 – 400 block of N Montour St – An Officer took a report from a man who found a scooter at the bottom of his pool. The scooter is in our property room if anyone is missing one. 8/11 – I-180 – An Officer responded to the report of a single vehicle crash into a guide rail. Upon arrival, the vehicle was gone. The damage was reported to PennDot 8/11 – 300 block of Cherry St – An Officer responded to a report of a woman having heart trouble. The Officer assisted the ambulance crew. 8/11 – Frankies Subs – An Officer responded to the report of a woman having trouble breathing. No assistance was needed. 8/11 – 300 block of N Washington St – An Officer responded to the report of a man soliciting. The Officer made contact with the man and determined he did not have a permit. Later, the officer came in contact with more people from the same company. It was determined they did have a permit but did not have it with them as the ordinance requires. They left the Boro upon request. (the first man didn’t know the name of the company he was working for which caused the confusion). 8/11 – South Williamsport – An Officer assisted SWPD with the report of males shooting a BB gun at houses, cars and people from a moving vehicle. 8/12 – I-180 – An Officer took a report of hit an run. 8/12 – 300 block of Cherry St – An Officer responded to the report of a mental health situation. Upon arrival, the Officer determined that it was a drunken mother and drunken daughter having a domestic dispute. The drunken daughter locked the drunken mother out of the house. The Officer mediated the situation and no further Police action was needed. 8/12 – 10 block of Mill St – While on patrol, an Officer found a debit card in a parking lot. An attempt to contact the owner was made by phone. Sarah Duvall we have your debit card. Please contact this office if you haven’t already. 8/13 – 1000 block of Elm St – An Officer was dispatched to the report of water in a basement. The Officer assisted the Fire Department with the matter. 8/13 – 300 block of Mulberry St – An Officer had received complaints about a cat problem. The SPCA was notified and responded. The agent with the SPCA stated he had an on going investigation on this address. A search warrant was obtained and multiple cats were removed. Due to the deplorable condition of the residence, entry could not be made without fully encapsulated suits. The house was deemed uninhabitable for human presence until the property own can bring it up to codes. 8/13 – Broad @ Walnut St – An Officer responded to the report of a vehicle crash. The Officer learned that a pedestrian misjudged traffic and ran in front of a vehicle. That vehicle was able to stop in time to avoid striking the female, but the vehicle behind him could not and struck the first vehicle from behind. No injuries were reported. 8/14 – Reading Ln – An Officer responded to the report of a burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm. 8/14 – Mill St – An Officer responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was not located. The reporting party would not return a call for better directions to the location. 8/14 – 400 block of Mulberry St – AN Officer responded to the report of an alarm activation. Upon arrival, it was learned that the house cleaner set the alarm off by accident. 8/14 – 1200 block of Nicely Ave – An Officer took a report of debit card fraud that occurred in Georgia. 8/14 – Tule @ Pearl Blvd – An Officer responded to the report of people being loud. The Officer located the people and advised them to go inside and be loud. 8/15 – 500 block of Airport Rd – An Officer was dispatched to a fire alarm. Upon arrival, he was unable to locate a fire. Station 19 arrived and conducted a more detailed search but was unable to locate anything. 8/16 – DUI Checkpoint – A Montoursville Officer made contact with a man in a vehicle that had a fake license plate and fake driver’s license. The man was taken to see the Judge. He was able to post collateral and was released. 8/16 – 400 block of N Montour St – An Officer was dispatched twice to a smoke alarm. The Fire Department was unable to locate a fire both times. 8/16 – 1000 block of Mulberry St – An Officer responded to the report of a fall victim. 8/16 – I-180 – While on patrol an Officer noticed a disabled vehicle with a flat tire. The Officer positioned the patrol car with the lights on to provide a safer scene. Once the tire was changed, the driver realized they locked the keys in the car. AAA was called and unlocked the car. The Office then went back in service.
