Police Shoots One Dead In Luweero Edison Akugizibwe Police in Luwero last night shot one person dead as the battle between the police officers and the two men who had come to exhume bodies lasted for 10 minutes. Police was tipped off in time that two men had come armed on a motorcycle registration number UEA799P to exhume bodies at Kikyusa village in Luweero District. According to the region spokes person Lamech Kigozi, as soon as the two saw the armed police which was on the patrol vehicle, they opened fire at them and police fired back killing one of them and the other escaped with the gun. “Umar Katende was killed during the engagement but we are still looking for his colleague who ran away with the gun’” said Lamech Kigozi. Kigozi adds that when the other assailant is apprehended, he will be brought to justice as according to the law.
