Police are appealing for witnesses after an aggravated break and enter in Wagga Wagga last night. About 2.40am (Saturday 2 August 2014), a 20-year-old man was asleep in his home on The Esplanade, when he woke up to find a man standing next him. The man threatened the resident with a knife, before leaving the house with a number of stolen items, including a laptop, coins baseball caps and knives. The 20-year-old followed the man, confronting him. The man dropped the stolen items and then left the area. Police were contacted and Wagga Wagga Local Area Command attended commencing an investigation. A search was undertaken but the man was not located. A crime scene was established. Investigators would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries. He was described as Caucasian appearance, aged between 50 and 60, about 165-170cm tall, large build, grey balding hair and was wearing a blue/grey t-shirt, grey shorts and running shoes.
