Police are appealing to the public for information after a robbery at a financial institution in Marrickville earlier today. About 2.50pm today (Wednesday 30 April 2014), police were called to a shopping centre on Victoria Road, Marrickville, following reports of a robbery at a bank. Officers have been told a man wearing a grey hoodie entered the bank and threatened a female teller. The man alluded to the fact he had a weapon and demanded cash. After the teller complied with the man’s demands he was last seen running up escalators and towards the car park. No one was physically injured during the incident however the female teller suffered shock and was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics. Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or with additional information about the robbery to come forward.
