Police are conducting investigations after a man was stabbed at Redfern last night. About 7pm, Sunday 12 October 2014, police were called to Chalmers Street following reports of a stabbing. They conducted a search of the area and found a 27-year-old man sitting on a fence near Elizabeth and Phillip Street with stab wounds to his arm and chest. Police have been told he was approached by an unknown man while walking along Chalmers Street and stabbed with a kitchen knife. The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Police from Redfern Local Area Command are investigating the incident and are looking for a man described as being of Caucasian appearance with blonde hair and wearing a black shirt and white pants.
